'Gloom Division' album cover.

I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME are known for their interesting stylistic arrangements, taking influence from such groups as the Talking Heads and David Bowie. With a unique and powerful voice, Dallon Weekes commands attention with every breath and note he hits.

Their newest single ushers in a new era for the band. What used to be a duo of Ryan Seaman and Weekes, disagreements and lies broke them apart. As a sort of possible revenge record, Gloom Division seems to promise a new era for Weekes, who has never cursed on a track before but suddenly has an explicit song on the album.

"WHAT LOVE" is a groovy and upbeat track, featuring many different highs and lows. The track starts out with a distorted and higher-pitched voice singing "What love/What love/What love/What love could get this vicious?" Reminiscent of a casual 80s track, there are many different synth notes, guitar strums, and heavy percussion to keep the listener on their toes.

Weekes leaves it all out in this track, singing in some of the highest pitches he has yet. Singing of break ups and heartache, he talks about missing the person he once knew, and feels like he is drowning in misery. At some points, the track sounds like something Queen would have produced, with an opera-like backing vocal section that comes out of left field but adds many more layers to the complex track.

Overall, "WHAT LOVE" is the perfect track for the end of summer and fall vibes, with irresistible grooves and over-the-top production. I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME are back and better than ever.
